(25/11/2008)Third Year Trip to Blists Hill Victorian Town

On Thursday 20th November the third year boys enjoyed a school trip to Blists Hill, which is a small Victorian town in Ironbridge, Shropshire. They enjoyed exploring the town and visiting small shops, inns, bakers, grocers, blacksmiths, wood houses and much more.

In the afternoon the boys were to experience what it was like for a schoolboy in Victorian times. After dressing in a Victorian style uniform they were given a lesson in arithmetic and history; whilst nervously keeping an eye on the cane of the Victorian teacher!


(12/11/2008)Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal

Many congratulations to the boys in the Junior School who responded so well to Mrs Gemmell’s latest charity event.

This year Operation Christmas Child (OCC) were again asking for support for their Samaritan’s Purse Appeal. They ask donors to supply a shoebox filled with goodies for a child in need. The shoeboxes that are donated are sorted and taken to be delivered to needy children anywhere in the world.
Last year the OCC were able to send out over 1.3 million boxes to needy children!


(03/03/2008)IAPS National U10 Rugby Champions 2008

The U10 and U11 teams competed in the North/Midlands regional final of the IAPS National Schools Rugby Tournament at St Faith's, Cambridge. Both teams came away victorious and went on to the National Final at Epsom College.

At Epsom, the U11 team got to the quarter-finals where they faced stiff opposition in the form of Beacon School and narrowly lost. The U10 team meanwhile progressed to the final where they played Shrewsbury House School. The team played magnificently and won 3-0 with Alexander Bruce scoring a hat-trick.
